YOU ARE NOT ALONE
A Breakthrough in Mental Health
Millions of people in the U.S. are affected by mental illness each year. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, 20.6% of U.S. adults experienced mental illness in 2019 (51.5 million people). This represents 1 in 5 adults. Numerous trials and studies on oral ketamine have shown that it is as effective as IV infusions for managing treatment resistant disorders.
Fear of Death
What is Ketamine?
Ketamine is not a new drug. It is classified as a dissociative anesthetic (dissociative means detached from reality and usual self) and has been approved for use as an anesthetic agent for many years due to its safety. Although ketamine is an FDA approved anesthetic, it is being used off-label in sub-anesthetic doses for the treatment of depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar depression, PTSD, migraines, and chronic pain.
Neuroplasticity is the ability of the brain to form new connections and pathways and change how its circuits are wired.
How does Ketamine Work?
Ketamine affects the glutamate system (glutamate is used in the brain for neurons to communicate). At high doses, it seems to block glutamate, making it an effective anesthetic. But at low doses, glutamate production is increased, which is where the antidepressant effects come into play.
Ketamine is also classified as an NMDA (N-methyl-D- aspartate) antagonist, meaning that it blocks the NMDA receptor from reabsorbing glutamate and causes the release of BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor). BDNF is an important brain chemical as it is responsible for the maturation and maintenance of the cell dendrites and synapses that are necessary for normal healthy brain connectivity. Stress and anxiety inhibit the production of BDNF leading to visible changes in neurophysiology and subsequent serious mood disorders such as depression, PTSD, anxiety, addiction, and OCD. What does this mean? It means that we have the power to create change in our brain which facilitates change in our lives.
Ketamine has been associated with a decrease in symptoms with varying lengths and levels of relief. The ongoing beneficial effects of ketamine may include:
- Anxiety relief
- Reduced PTSD symptoms
- Relief from depression
- Improved outlook
- Stress resilience is increased
- Increased motivation
- Deeper sense of calmness
- Lessened OCD
- Facilitates “letting go” of trauma
- Reduced suicide ideation
- Renewed sense of inner strength
- Reduction in triggers
- Stronger interpersonal relationships
Everyone responds to ketamine a little differently so outcomes will vary from person to person. With some patients a ketamine “booster” is periodically needed.
EFFECTS OF KETAMINE
What Does Ketamine Feel Like?
The effects of ketamine can range from very subtle, like having a glass of wine and feeling mild sub-perceptual disturbances to very profound where one feels separate from the body and thoughts completely dissolve. Every experience is different for each person depending on tolerance, dose, mood, etc. Current research has shown that some level of dissociation can be more beneficial for a positive treatment response.
These feelings are considered non-ordinary states of consciousness and may result in profound, and even life changing, experiences for some patients. This departure from his/her usual mental and physical state can sometimes be challenging, however, the treatment environment, supportive staff, and proper dosing protocol is designed to optimize your overall ketamine experience.
Your wellness journey is unique to you and, because of that, we custom tailor your ketamine treatments to meet your exact needs. To facilitate this, we include all of the following:

COST. COMFORT. GUIDING
Cost Typical ketamine clinics can charge twice as much (or more) than at-home ketamine therapy. Because we don’t have a physical clinic we are able to pass along our savings to you. Finally, there is an effective and affordable option.
Comfort There is something to be said about having the ability to conduct your ketamine sessions in the comfort of your own home. Sometimes people find it difficult to “let go” when they are in an unfamiliar setting (and especially in a medical clinic setting). Our at-home sessions take this into consideration and we do everything to make sure that you have the most comfortable experience possible.
In Person or Zoom Guiding Your first appointment will be with our psychiatrist, Dr. Pete Ton. During the 30-minute visit you will discuss your mental and physical health, both past and current as well as the reasons you are seeking ketamine treatments.
To find out if ketamine therapy is an appropriate treatment option for you, we invite you to schedule a consultation with us. This 15-minute call with a wellness professional will educate you about ketamine and help you schedule and prepare for your initial consultation with our psychiatrist.
Each person is on their own wellness journey and proceeds at their own pace. Everyone is different so there is no “one-size-fits-all” answer. Some patients may notice a difference after 1-2 sessions and usually notice a substantial difference after 4-6 treatments.
Most people are usually going to require six treatments for longer-term, noticeable results. Because of that we offer several packages, which can be customized to suit your needs. After your consultation with the doctor you will sit down with one of our wellness professionals to go over package options. If financial assistance is needed, we offer Advance Care Card.
Unfortunately, ketamine therapy through Revive Wellness and Education is not currently covered by insurance. However, we do accept Advance Care Card, an innovative financing solution for ketamine treatments and other services. Another alternative is to receive a superbill to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Our Osmind app allows this process to be quick and painless. Please speak with a wellness professional if you are interested in getting a superbill for your treatment(s).
Yes, we are currently accepting new patients. Appointments for new patient intakes can typically be scheduled within one to two weeks. At times there can be a await of up to two weeks after intake before treatment sessions begin. We will let you know the current wait times when you schedule your intake appointment.
Many clinics around the state and around the country only do lower dose IV treatments. Although this method is acceptable, we feel that larger doses via sublingual lozenge can yield more profound and lasting results. Also many clinics provide the patient with the treatment, a psychiatric consultation, a lesson in meditating, and maybe an integration session or group. We feel that ketamine is much more beneficial when it is coupled with lifestyle changes as well. Because of this approach to healing mind, body, and soul, Revive Wellness and Education offers a variety of products and services to encourage you in your health and wellness journey.
Your first appointment will be the psychiatric evaluation. Before your appointment we will email you a link to several forms that must be completed prior to the appointment. You are also invited to upload any appropriate medical records, if applicable (e.g. lab results, diagnoses, hospital discharge summaries, etc.).
On the day of treatment, please refrain from taking any stimulants that may raise blood pressure and benzodiazepines which will lessen the effects of the ketamine. You may take your anti-hypertension medication and insulin/diabetic medications (be aware of fasting).
Yes, we are able to provide in-home guiding at no additional cost. If you prefer, we can also guide via Zoom.
